Multichoice increased the prices of its DSTV packages in May of 2017 and this was when the DSTV premium bouquet was increased from N13, 980 to the present N14,700 and Compact Plus was increased from N7800 to N9900. Now after about 14 months, the company is currently planning another price hike but this time on all its DSTV bouquet packages.
According to the report, Multichoice will be increasing the subscription plan on its digital satellite platform DSTV, while the subscription price on its terrestrial platform, GOTV will be either reduced or remain the same, depending on the package.
DSTV subscribers who are on the premium package will see the price increase from the current N14,700 to N15,800; Compact Plus from N9,900 to N10,650; Compact from N6,300 to N6,800; Family from N3,800 to N4,000 and Access from N1,900 to N2,000.
For the GOTV subscribers, the price of the GOTV Max package will reduce from the current N3, 800 to N3, 200 while the prices on GOTV Plus, GOTV Value and GOTV Lite packages remain fixed at N1, 900, N1, 250 and N400 respectively.
This new prices wouldn’t take effect until the beginning of next month which is August 1st.
